About Annie
A charismatic pioneer of color and comfort, Annie Selke designs with approachable elegance in mind. Celebrated for her commitment to fabulous and functional home décor, Annie is the irrepressible visionary behind widely acclaimed home-textile companies Pine Cone Hill and Dash & Albert Rug Company, and licensed fabrics collection Annie Selke Home.
A consummate world traveler and flea-market treasure hunter, Annie gathers inspiration wherever she goes. Her longtime love affair with vintage patterns (sparked by an early addiction to the Colefax and Fowler wallpaper in her room at Miss Porter’s School) and her background in art history, merchandising, and product development (Fashion Institute of Technology, Lord & Taylor, Saks Fifth Avenue, Ferragamo, Conran, Museum of American Folk Art) fuel Annie’s remarkable creative vision.
Annie’s entrepreneurship was recognized in 2010 when she was named the U.S. Small Business Administration’s (SBA) Massachusetts Small Business Person of the Year. The renovation of her Berkshire home was also featured in a yearlong series, “Makeover: Annie Selke,” in House Beautiful. In 2011, she began a decorating series with Woman’s Day, in which she transforms the rooms of five deserving readers. Her first book, Fresh American Spaces, which encourages individual self-expression through decorating, was released by Clarkson Potter in 2011, in conjunction with the launch of Fresh American, her informative and irreverent design and lifestyles blog.
With the help of her talented staff, Annie continues to design all her products from company headquarters in the Berkshire Hills of Western Massachusetts.
